Write a thank you note to the earth, then plant it with this family-friendly project from Ellen Luckett Baker of The Long Thread. Paper embedded with seeds is a fab way to celebrate both spring and Earth Day. Making paper isn't the tidiest activity in the world, but the results are beautiful and sustainable. Also, waiting for pressed flowers to dry is a nice lesson in patience; I remember being so excited as a kiddo when I finally got to officially crack open my little flower press and see the delicate blossoms. (I may have secretly opened it numerous times previous to the final unveiling, only to find that the flowers were still smushy and soft. Sorry, Mom.) Find the tutorial over at Alphamom, and happy Earth Day!
