Yes, I know it's nearly Spring. But winter has been anything but predictable this year, so there's still time to think about mitts and, most especially, about cute mitts. Anabela from Fieldguided first put thrummed mittens on my radar, posting about them here. Thrumming leaves unspun roving on the inside, making for a super-cozy mitt. I was instantly enamored with her heart-covered mittens. And then I saw these ones on Bonjour Celine and I really wanted a pair.

A quick consultation with my very own knitting guru, Laura, and we decided instead of making a pair from scratch to try afterthought thrumming a pair I already owned. The outcome was fantastic and I've been merrily waving hearts all over Toronto. Laura even made an instructional video over on her blog (click here to see Laura's full post). Afterthought thrumming is definitely something a non-knitter could consider giving a try.
