Kiwi

Kiwis are a fruit often associated with New Zealand, but did you know they're actually native to East Asia? Each furry fruit is loaded with antioxidants and has about one and half times the recommended daily allowance of vitamin C. These giant green berries also contain a potent enzyme that breaks down proteins, making kiwi the perfect natural meat tenderizer. Just mash up half a kiwi and add it into your favorite marinade. Because they're small and soft, they can be a little tough to peel without making a mess, but here's a fool-proof way to get all the green goodness out of every kiwi.

Slice the kiwi in half

First, slice the kiwi in half between the two ends.

Use a spoon to peel the fruit

Then, slide a small spoon between the skin and the flesh and gently turn the kiwi to separate the fruit from the fuzzy skin.
