Recipe Roundup: Four Sweets For Your Sweet!
Tim Mazurek

I know that Valentine's Day has its lovers and haters but regardless of which side you fall on, the holiday is a good excuse to whip up a special treat in your kitchen. The following sweets can be made in celebration or protest but either way you'll agree they are delicious! Happy Valentine's Day, all!
1. Truffles are one of those classic recipes that will make any chocolate lover swoon. They're relatively simple to make and very impressive, especially when packaged in a pretty box. This recipe from The Kitchen Sink Recipes is a classic and the addition of liqueur (I recommend Grand Marnier) makes them especially delicious.

2. Hopefully we are past the cupcake craze and can once again simply enjoy cupcakes. I can't imagine anything sounding better than White Chocolate Cupcakes with White Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting! Make a batch of these beauties and your office mates will fall in love with you. They are also the perfect blank canvas for creative types to top with colored sprinkles, fruit or even edible flowers.

3. Some people think that homemade marshmallows are not worth the effort, but one bite will prove them wrong. They are fun to make and so very beautiful. Imagine a few cubes packaged in a pretty bag or glass jar. Your friends will be forever grateful. Dawn over at Kitchen Travels walks you through the steps of making a basic marshmallow, you can then get creative with additions (Cayenne! Lavender! Cinnamon!).
4. Cajeta is an irresistible caramel made with goat's milk that is easy to make at home, with the help of the Homesick Texan. Jars of this sweet sauce may be the original love potion.
