With all the great design blogs, craft blogs, and tech blogs to keep up with, who has time to spend drooling over all the food blogs out there? That’s where I come in. Each week I’ll be choosing a theme and subjecting myself to hunger pangs as I scour the web in search of tasty recipes that anyone can make. Next Wednesday is St Paddy's day, the one day of the year when everyone thinks they are Irish, so in honor of this day of solidarity, I bring you four grand recipes that are sure to stir your inner Irish(wo)man.

Course 1: Ugly Leprechaun

The Intoxicologist brings us the Ugly Leprechaun. There's not much Irish about this kiwi cocktail other than the whiskey, but the colour is spot on, and with name you want to cuddle with, how could I possibly pass this up?

Course 2: Soda Bread

This raisin studded soda bread by Nicole from For the Love of Food has a gorgeous crackly crust and avoids all the sitting and waiting that you have to do with a yeast leavened bread. After you've had a couple Ugly Leprechauns and a few pints of Guinness, your stomach will thank you for feeding it a few slices of this amazing bread.

Course 3: Colcannon

I know some of you are scratching your heads and wondering why I didn't include corned beef and cabbage in this menu, but aside from being a bit cliche, corned beef isn't actually Irish (hint: the cured beef originally came from kosher deli's in the Lower East Side). Colcannon on the other hand is about as Irish as you can get, and who could say no to a mash of cabbage, potatoes, and bacon that's covered in butter? Mary from One Perfect Bite really hits the nail on the head with her delicious rendition of this Irish classic.

Course 4: Whiskey Apple Pudding

Dessert this week is in Ireland, at the home of the The Daily Spud. While there are many authentic Irish recipes to be found at the Spud, this heavenly apple pudding with a glistening whiskey sauce was too breathtaking to pass by.
