Teacups Brew Meals for Hungry Birds
Sonia Zjawinski

If you live anywhere with a wild bird population you know the pleasures that can come from waking up to the natural sounds of birds chirping. And while tweeters can find food on their own, it's always nice to prepare meals for your feathered friends. There are a few beautifully designed bird feeders out there, but nothing beats repurposing a forgotten item. While walking around my neighborhood here in Pacific Grove, I happened upon this front yard feeder.
Each teacup is hung using twine, which is looped around the handle, allowing it to hang in the prefect perching position. The kettle, resting on the branches, holds the seeds so the homeowner can easily refill her guests' mugs. I'm off to the thrift store to find my own porcelain bird feeders!
