If your Halloween get-up calls for costume jewelry this year, consider making some magnets with your show pieces after the 31st--the gaudier the better. Taking a cue from this tutorial by Julia Poppie's Design, I dressed up my fridge with super glue, a roll of magnets, and vintage pieces scored from a junk store.

Simply pop the backs off of old earrings or pins with wire cutters and glue a magnet to the back. I wanted to be lazy and skipped the super glue, opting for self-adhesive magnets instead. If your jeweled piece is the slightest bit heavy go with the glue; if the pieces are light, the self-sticking magnet works just fine.

Thanks to these babies, I feel glamorous every time I open my fridge (for a beer).
