Not only is today Friday the 13th—it's no
July 14th, I can tell you that—it's also my last day as a ReadyMade intern! This summer has been a dream; along with exploring the city and working with some brilliant people, I learned to appreciate a whole new lifestyle.
As a 20-year-old, I've put a lot of thought into what I want to
do, but I've never quite considered the way I want to live (I have yet to do a full grocery shop). Spending time reading the RM blog each morning and uploading projects onto our new site has inspired me to put more stock into the things I use and consume each day. I now have a running list of projects I want to tackle, tools I need to buy, and recipes I'd like to try. Just a few weeks back I baked a loaf of banana bread on a whim—I. never. bake.—and recently, I've been saving plastic by using my purse as my one-and-only shopping bag. When I'm abroad this spring, I'm definitely making a trip to Provence to sip some authentic
Pastis, and when I'm home next summer, I might even join a
CSA.
Something about the summer makes me want to go out in the backyard and tie-dye every white cotton item I own. For a personal touch, I think I'll get a little festive and dye the ruffle a different color than the rest of the shirt before I sew it together. We'll see how it goes!
Bye everyone, thanks for reading!
Erin
