RM100 TV: Making the Geeky Bar Top
ReadyMade
The crew at West End Architectural Salvage and our design team made your projects come to life for the ReadyMade 100 Issue. Artist Shantell Martin was the model you see with the peanuts in the final shot of the Geeky Bar Top. "It was over so quickly," Shantell says. "It was short and painless and the thing that took the longest was the manicure. I’m notorious for messing up my nails within seconds, so that was the trickiest part for me." Also, she adds, "This was my favorite project. I liked getting to see the last key being put in. I might try to make this myself."
She also caught some making-of and behind-the-scenes action on video, and set it to "Wild Palms" by Chicago's favorite dream-synth band Night Gallery. Their new record is out now on Rainbow Body Records. And you can catch Shantell at ArtsQuest in Seaside, Florida, May 7-8.
