What, exactly, does your professional day entail?
I'm a graphic designer by day, so I design logos, websites, invitations, ads, and more.

What was the impetus for this project? How did it serve a personal need?
I needed affordable, creative Christmas presents for my friends, coworkers and very large family! Every year I try to come up with one item I can make for everyone. One year it was custom rubber stamps, another year it was rice neck-warmers I sewed out of vintage fabrics. I can't just go the store and buy something—that would be way too easy! The cement planters are so popular, I make them year round and use them as gifts for all occasions. I even sell a few.

In what ways are you a “maker”?
Let me count the ways. I always have at least two projects in the works and a folder of ideas on my desktop. I drive my family and friends crazy by always asking them to help me or asking for their opinion about what I am up to. I hopefully inspire them, too.

What are you working on lately?
Tree stumps! Yes, it's true. I have been picking them up on the side of the road and working on them. They turn into the most delightful tables and lamps. Other projects are eco-friendly wood stain, eco-friendly gift baskets and my book. My book is about how to repurpose items you already have in your garage, attic or desk. You are going to love it!

What does being a RM 100 finalist mean to you?
I feel so fortunate to be recognized for my work, to be featured with the coolest projects ever and have been chosen by rock star judges! I am excited and inspired to keep on creating. Thank you ReadyMade!
