    Materials

  • Glass bottles
  • Copper Foil Tape
  • Lamp base/stand
  • Newspaper
  • Flux

    Tools

  • Soldering iron
  • Solder

Remove labels and clean glass bottles.

Compile newspaper into a round ball that will act as support for the soldering. (This should be the size you would like the diameter of the lamp to be.)

Throw cleaned glass bottles and collect the bottlenecks and bases.

Plug soldering iron into an outlet and let it warm up.

Wrap copper foil tape along the inside edges of the glass.

Coat the copper foil in flux.

Holding the glass bottlenecks against the newspaper ball, solder ever intersection between two glass bottlenecks/bases.

Repeat steps 5-7 until the newspaper ball is surrounded by glass, leaving space at the base of the sphere to allow the lamp to be placed over a light bulb.

This can also be used as a hanging lamp.
