When living spaces are tight, pot racks are great to have. When budgets are tight, real pot racks are pretty price-y. But what do the good small-space dwellers do on a budget? They get creative. Viola! I present to you the $30 or less Hardware Store Pot Rack.

- 2 pipe enders
- 2 threaded short pipes
- 2 elbow connectors
- 1 threaded lead pipe
- 8 screws
- Packet of basic shower hooks
Materials
- Screwdriver
- Wire cutters
- Elbow grease
Tools
Go to the hardware store and pick up your enders, elbows, screws, long pipe and short pipes. The long pipe should be the desired length of your rack, the short pipes should be the distance you'd like your rack away from your wall.
Before you leave the hardware store: make sure your pipes and attachments are a) all the same size in diameter and will fit together, b) threaded (screw together) c) the enders have holes for screws.
Assemble one side of your rack with an ender, short pipe and elbow. Do the other side.
Screw the two sides onto the long pipe.
Have a friend hold your rack onto the wall while you screw in the rack (make sure you're screwing into studs, otherwise you might end up with your pots on the floor.)
Cut ½ - 1” off of your shower hooks with a wire cutter to make hooks.
Hang your pots and utensils.
Sit back, admire your handiwork and your new-found space!
