    Materials

  • Quarter-size coin bezel (available from websites like esslinger.com and flintski.com)
  • 2 old family photos (or newer black-and-white or sepia-hued ones) with ¾-inch tall portraits and simple backgrounds
  • Cereal box cardboard
  • Clear spray paint
  • 22-inch chain in the metal of your preference

    Tools

  • Quarter
  • Pen
  • X-Acto knife

1

Trace the quarter onto each of the photos in the desired locations. Cut out along the lines with the knife. Trace five quarter-sized disks onto the cardboard and cut them out as well.

2

Coat the photos with clear spray paint for a laminated effect and let them dry.

3

Unscrew the bezel and insert the photo discs with the backs facing. Add as many cardboard disks between the photos as necessary to stabilize the pictures and keep them from popping out of the bezel.

4

Screw the bezel shut and weave the chain through the bezel’s loop.
