These recycled cans really stack up.

From the Judges: “She repurposed cans and made them look entirely new and fresh, so much so that this could make a really cool wedding ceremony backdrop.” —Alexa Fornoff

- Cans with different circumferences and heights
- Nuts
- Bolts (the kind that fit a flathead screwdriver; short is better)
- Spray paint
Materials
- Can opener
- Drill and drill bit that matches the size of the bolts
- Screw (or something else that will puncture a can)
- Flathead screwdriver
- Wrench that matches the size of the nuts
Tools
Cut the bottom of the cans out with a can opener.
Spray paint the inside and outside of the cans and let dry completely. Pay attention to the crevices.
Arrange the cans (on the ground) in the design you like. Starting with the corner can, drill a hole in about the middle of the can.
Match the hole to the middle of an adjacent can and mark. Drill a hole where you marked the second can.
Fasten the 2 cans together with a nut and bolt (so that the cans are touching but not tightly bolted together). Continue joining cans one by one. Depending on the height of the cans, you may need to secure the attachment with two bolts. You may also need to take apart previously attached cans in order to make a mark on the next can.
Tighten all the bolts with the screwdriver and wrench.
Fill the cans with desired items—such as fresh produce, office supplies, table linens, or decorations.
