“I coordinate a program that mentors young women in science. I’m also passionate about homemaking, and I try to create something every day.”

From the Judges: “Kitchen storage is almost always tricky, so using readily available vintage tins seems like a genius, room-appropriate, and space-saving solution.” —Amy Palanjian

    Materials

  • 2 equal lengths of chain
  • 4 metal loaf pans
  • Screws
  • 8 S hooks

    Tools

  • Tape measure
  • Wire cutter
  • Drill
  • Pliers

1

Drill a ΒΌ-inch hole about 1 inch from the edge of a tin and close to the top edge. Repeat on other side. Measure the distance between these two holes and drill matching holes on the other three tins.

2

Anchor chain segments to the wall with screws (and drywall anchors if necessary). The distance between the two segments should be the same as the distance between the holes.

3

Use S hooks to attach each tin to the chain. Store your stuff.
