Forget cable, think organization instead.

“I work full-time as a catering supervisor. When I am not creating food displays on the job, I am re-creating items at home or restoring vintage mopeds.”

From the Judges: “This is super easy, and how many crap TVs exist in the world? Too many. I say put them to use.” —Caitlin Thornton

    Materials

  • 4 old televisions
  • Bolts with matching nuts
  • Plywood (optional)
  • Paint (optional)
  • Wood glue (or high-strength glue)

    Tools

  • Drill and corresponding bit
  • Hammer
  • Circular saw
  • Sandpaper (optional)

1

Taking appropriate safety precautions, remove the back, insides, and screen from each TV frame. (Depending on the TV, unscrew a few screws, or use a hammer or saw to get the back off.) Slide the insides and screen out (recycle the insides).

2

Starting with your bottom two TVs, drill three holes (the size of your bolts) through the top of the bottom TV frame and the bottom of the upper TV, making sure the holes line up with each other. Continue in this manner with all of the TVs.

3

Place bolts through the holes of the upper frame and the aligning lower frame. Twist a nut onto the bolt to tighten the two frames together. Continue with the rest of the TVs.

4

To make an optional backing for added sturdiness, measure the back side of each of the TVs and cut a piece of plywood to fit. Sand and paint the plywood before attaching it, if desired. When dry, glue it to the back of the TV frames and allow to dry.
