“I am quite frugal and I have a nagging desire to live a do-it-yourself life. What I’ve figured out along the way is that in order to do something yourself you have to either know how or learn how (duh). Trial and error always make for great stories, so sometimes I take on a project without any know-how. Did I mention that another favorite pastime is storytelling that may cause embarrassment to myself but bring MUCH laughter and guffawing?”

Rounds 1–8: Knit (K) 1, purl (P) 1 in a standard single rib.
Rounds 9–15: Switch to #4 DPN and knit stockinette—K all stitches—for 6 rounds.
*(K27, cable 3 in front, K3, transfer cable stitches back onto DPN then K to end. K 5 rounds) then repeat from * 5 times.
K stockinette until the tube is desired length (around 8 inches is standard for babies). Switch to #2 DPN, K1, P1 of rib for 8 rounds. Bind off.
Note: I actually knitted the end cuff with the #4 needles for a looser cuff. That way, the ends can lay over shoes in a bit more relaxed cuff.
