Red tile. The paint from the waxed paper got on the tile where it was not raised but I think that still looks good. -

Doesn't this look like an antique ceiling tile that has started to rust a bit? Or the kind that you can buy at any home decor store.

My mother-in-law wanted her cubicle to be less......cubicle so she wanted some artwork to hang on a long wall. She found a few things but they were either too small for the space or if they were big enough, they were too expensive. So I MADE her some wall art for $ FREE.99!!!

- 3 Small ceiling tiles with a raised pattern (found leftover in someone's basement)
- Paint (I used 4 different colors of wall paint from my house)
- Waxed paper
- Tape
Materials
- Exacto or utility knife
- Paint brush
- Picture mounting hardware
Tools
Cut off outer lip of ceiling tiles (where it would drop into the ceiling frame. Paint each tile using leftover wall paint. When each has dried, tape waxed paper to a flat surface (like a kitchen counter). Make sure it is a bit larger than the tiles. Paint a thin layer of brownish paint onto the waxed paper. While it is still wet, turn the tile so it is face down and 'stamp' it into the paint on the paper. Repeat with all tiles. May need to paint wax paper between each tile or change it out if it gets too wrinkly. Put picture hanging hardware on back, hang, and TA DA!!!
